Please take a look & let us kow what you think?
Thanks Rachel

Farewell to the Fountain and many thanks

The beginning of August marks a new chapter for Torbay Acupuncture Centre as all clinics have now moved to our own beautiful customised premises in St. Marychurch. 105 Fore Street offer ground floor level treatment rooms that are used exclusively for acupuncture. People tell us it has an 'wonderful atmosphere of peace and healing' which we are very proud of. A new and highly proficient practitioner, Wendy Morrison has taken over the practise in Teignmouth so that low cost acupuncture is still available to anyone in the area who is unable to travel. I am very grateful to her as this means that I am now able to consolidate my efforts closer to home and open 105 for another day to the residents of Torbay. I have enjoyed my time in Teignmouth and would like to thank all the patients and staff at the Fountain who have made that so, as well as the supportive GP's who have been happy to refer. I wish Wendy and the Fountain team all the best and look forward to all the good work acupuncture can do with anticipation...

Torbay Acupuncture Centre rejoins the British Acupuncture Council

Affordable multi-bed acupuncture is very important to me. I have seen the difference acupuncture treatment can make to peoples lives and I want that to be something that is accessible to the majority, not just a select few. However, I am also keen to show that due to its unique set up, with multi bed acupuncture, paying less does not have to equate to getting less. To that aim it has been my ambition for some time to rejoin the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC are the national governing body of acupuncturist and as such maintain the gold standard of both acupuncture training and practise. As you would imagine, their entry procedure was rigorous but as of 1st June 2014, Torbay Acupuncture Centre has become a fully signed up member. For our patients this means that they can be assured that the treatment they will receive with us is of the highest professional standard. As acupuncture becomes more widely recognised and integrated into the NHS we feel it is important to stand behind our regulatory bodies in order to safe guard both professional standards and you the public.

Torbay Acupuncture Centre opens a new multi-bed acupuncture centre in St. Marychurch Torquay.
Due to increasing demand, Torbay Acupuncture Centre has moved to its own premises in St. Marychurch, Torquay. With easy ground floor access, this two level venue is perfectly located right opposite Brunel Doctors Surgery, at the top of the precinct, and it has ample free parking around the clinic.

Rachel Geary (proprietor & practitioner) has been practising acupuncture since 2002. Her first multi-bed acupuncture centre in the bay was opened in 2018 in Herbs & Honey health shop.

Affordable Acupuncture for all the family
Multi-bed acupuncture allows the practitioner to treat several patients at once and means that prices can be significantly reduced. Initial consultation and treatment cost £25 and subsequent treatments are only £15.

This arrangement is proving to be a successful formula for all concerned, particularly the patients, who report that they really enjoy having their own quiet time in which to relax.

"For my part I am really happy to be able to help more people improve their lives and feel better. I strongly believe acupuncture can make a difference to everyone’s health and well-being." says Rachel

"Its great that we found a suitable property in here in St. Marychurch. Its a unique area, and we hope that people who travel from further afield can spend time here, and use all the lovely shops and facilities we're so lucky to have. Lots of people who come for treatment comment on what a great atmosphere their is in the precinct."

Affordable Acupuncture
Following the success of its first clinic in St Marychurch, Torbay Acupuncture Centre has now opened a further clinic at The Fountain for Health in Teignmouth. Inspired by the way acupuncture is administered in China, these centres are part of a growing breed of multi-bed acupuncture clinics across the country. While the first in-depth consultation is conducted in private, treatment after that may take place in a group room, where screens separate the couches for privacy. This enables a practitioner to treat more patients per hour so the cost of treatment can be significantly reduced. Rachel Geary, founder of the two centres, says: “Practising in this way has always appealed to me because it means acupuncture and all its benefits become affordable for a much wider group of people. I strongly believe acupuncture can make a difference to everyone’s health and wellbeing and I want to make it possible for as many people as possible to try it. “Most people know acupuncture can be good for back problems and giving up smoking, but few realise it can actually be used to help any form of physical or psychological disorder. “Not only that, acupuncture is designed to be preventative, so as well as helping to prevent future illness, it can actually enhance health and overall wellbeing. After treatment, people report feeling positive, relaxed, at ease and invigorated.”

You can try multi-bed treatments at Torbay Acupuncture Centre for as little as £15.  Call Rachel on 01803 414988

This means that as well as helping to prevent future illness, it can actually enhance health and over all well being, making it the perfect route to a happier, healthier you. Observations were made of the way in which nature functioned and these patterns and rhythms were then identified in human beings.

All of nature hangs in an intricate balance, and in the same way, each of us as human beings can attain physical and emotional equilibrium.
